Principal’s Corner | Jan. 16

Dear Peacham families and friends,
It’s hard to believe we are halfway through January, but we are. Cold and flu season is here and we are starting to see the effects on staff and students. If your child has a fever or is vomiting, we ask that you please keep them at home. Sharing is nice, but not if it’s bacteria or viruses. School Board members completed the proposed 2015- 2016 Budget at the January 12th afternoon meeting. The proposed budget includes a half day increase for our Music program to allow Mr. Colosa to continue to support student interest, exploration, and skill in musical performance. Mr. C. hopes to develop a composition and arrangement element to his instruction integrating technology. Can you imagine student-produced recordings of their own music?

Another budget item for consideration is the proposed full-day, full-week preschool program to provide the opportunity for an enriched, developmentally appropriate early learning experience for our youngest students. This will put PES in compliance with Act 166, providing publicly funded universal preschool. It will also provide a much needed service for working families and make Peacham an attractive community for other young families.
