We are happy to announce that Vermont author and storyteller, Natalie-Kinsey Warnock http://kinsey-warnock.com/ will be working with our students this April 13, 14 and 24th. Literacy proficiency is a focus goal for the schools in Caledonia Central Supervisory Union. Using a VRP Grant, we are able to provide 3 days of structured writing workshops for our students.
Students will also interview members of the Peacham community to hear stories about the history of the town Peacham and its people. Students will be writing personal narratives that retell a family story. These stories will be compiled into a book that each of the classrooms will then make in Art class.
To conclude this school wide workshop, students will present their stories, Natalie will share her books, and a slideshow will be presented at a special presentation night. Also, video or audio commentaries of the interviews with Peacham community members will be shared.
This night is TBA. We look forward to sharing our work with you!
We would like to thank the Peacham Historical Society for their help in gathering resources during this project. Thanks so much!
